Selenite Ying And Yang Candle Holders

The Selenite Ying And Yang Candle Holders pair white and pink selenite in a symbolic yin-yang design. Each holder is polished smooth, and when a tealight is lit inside, the stone gives off a soft, warm glow that suits a living room, bedroom or quiet reading corner.

The set is made up of two holders that sit together as one yin-yang shape, so it works as a single centrepiece or as two matching pieces placed side by side on a shelf or table.

A yin-yang design in white and pink selenite

The yin-yang shape is formed from two contrasting halves, one in white selenite and one in pink selenite. The polished surface feels smooth to the touch, and the pale, translucent quality of the stone lets the candlelight show through. Because selenite is a natural stone, the colour and markings vary slightly from piece to piece, so no two sets look exactly alike.

Selenite is a soft, fine-grained mineral, and the holders are shaped and polished to show off its natural colour. The white half is pale and milky, while the pink half carries a gentle blush tone, and the contrast between the two is what gives the pair its distinctive look.

A soft glow for evenings at home

Place a tealight in each holder and the flame shines gently through the stone, giving a soft, warm orange glow. The light is low and steady rather than bright, which makes the holders a good choice for evenings at home, dinner tables and relaxed corners of a room.

Candlelight changes the feel of a room in a way that electric light does not. The holders are at their best in the evening, when the glow stands out against a darker room and the pair becomes a natural focal point on a table or mantelpiece.

Where to place them

The pair works well kept together on a mantelpiece, shelf or dining table, or split across two spots, for example one on a bedside table and one in a living room. They also suit a meditation or reading corner, where candlelight is part of the routine.

Because the holders are compact, they fit easily into rooms that are short on space, and they sit comfortably alongside other candle holders, vases and ornaments. As with any open flame, keep them away from curtains and draughts, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

A thoughtful gift

A pair of candle holders in natural stone makes a thoughtful gift for a housewarming, a birthday or a thank-you. The yin-yang design is easy to understand at a glance, and the holders fit into most rooms without needing a particular style of decor.

A note on caring for selenite

Selenite is a naturally soft stone, so handle the holders gently and keep them dry. A quick wipe with a dry, soft cloth is enough to keep the polished surface looking its best.
